From mic techniques and performance techniques to to different studio setups, each lesson will equip you with the insights and skills necessary to thrive in recording sessions. 1. Mastering the Studio Environment: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the essential elements of a studio setup. From navigating equipment to understanding acoustics and sound isolation, you’ll develop a keen sense of what makes a successful studio session.

Learn how to work seamlessly with recording software, adapting your performance to suit studio requirements and ensuring your sessions are productive and efficient.

Pre-requisites
To make the most of this course, students should possess the following
foundational skills for their respective instruments:
• Vocalists: A solid ability to perform a complete song with
accurate pitch and rhythm, accompanied by a backing track. This
course assumes comfort with song delivery and vocal control.
• Pianists: Practical familiarity with scales and arpeggios, played
with both hands together. Additionally, students should have a
foundational understanding of chords, chord progressions, and
basic sight-reading skills to facilitate ease in following studio
arrangements.
• Guitarists: Competence in reading guitar tablature and
knowledge of fundamental major and minor scales, along with
basic chord progressions. Basic sight-reading skills are also
required to smoothly interpret studio sheet music.
Module 1
(8 weeks + 1 week for assignment)

This module builds essential skills for studio-ready performances. Students will learn foundational music theory, ear training, and tailored warmup techniques to enhance precision and stamina. Practical DAW training and lessons on mic technique, posture, and performing with a click track will prepare students to navigate studio setups confidently. Together, these skills will help to ensure polished, professional-quality recordings.
Module 2
(8 weeks + 1 week for assignment)
This module develops technical and collaborative skills for studio success. Students will learn microphone types, audio technology, recording software, and home studio setup. They’ll practice working with engineers, incorporating feedback, and mastering studio terminology. Key techniques like headphone mixes, comping, punching in, and double-tracking, along with tools like Melodyne, Auto-Tune, compression, and EQ, will be introduced. The module also covers collaboration with vocalists and instrumentalists to enhance recording sessions.
Module 3
(8 weeks + 1 week for assignment)
Module 3 onwards classes will be separated for each Instruments.
Voice:
Students will explore voice textures, ranges, and diction across languages, while refining pitch, timing, and emotional delivery. They’ll master runs, riffs, and creating vocal scores for structured performances. Techniques for finding the right key and quickly learning songs in a studio setting will enhance adaptability and efficiency.

Piano:
Students will develop studio etiquette, create charts, and master playing with a click track and comping patterns. They’ll explore patches like suitcase and DX pianos, practice multi-takes for varied interpretations, and incorporate feedback effectively. The section also includes analyzing music in advertisements to understand piano’s role in commercial soundscapes.
Guitar:
Students will learn studio workflow, etiquette, and note documentation while mastering rehearsals with click tracks. They’ll explore guitar recording techniques, amplifiers, pedalboards, and processors to enhance sound. Focus will also be on arrangement and layering to create dynamic studio tracks.
Module 4
(8 weeks + 1 week for assignment)
Module 3 onwards classes will be separated for each Instruments.
Voice : Students will enhance their recording skills by focusing on collaborative techniques. They will learn to record duets, create scratch vocals, and add background harmonies to existing tracks. Additionally, students will practice basic vocal supervision while working within a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), ensuring their contributions are polished and professional.
Piano : Students will explore advanced concepts such as voicing and reharmonization, as well as the use of keys and strings in their compositions. They will experiment with chord extensions while developing essential collaboration etiquette and working on project briefs. As a key assignment, students will compose and record an original song or instrumental piece, which will be shared in a peer review to foster constructive feedback and learning.
Guitar : Students will engage in collaborative experiences that focus on enhancing their performance skills. They will tackle performance anxieties and develop strategies to work around creative blocks. Additionally, students will learn to understand the arrangement of the sound spectrum to optimize their recordings.
